Nothing calls for a return from the great internet beyond like our Canadian Correspondent’s hometown team making the World Series. Without further ado, an interview with Bart full of insight into the game you won’t find anywhere else.
adam: u getting locked in?
Hey Adam, thanks for the question. You know, I’m just trying to focus on execution and doing what I can to help the team put runs on the board and get outs. Gonna be a full team effort but we’re dialled in and all playing for each other and for the 41 million people across Canada.
Chris: Bart, would you say this is a must win?
Great question, Chris. I think any time you have the chance to win Game 1 at home and really set the tone for the series, you’re going to do whatever you can to do that. They’re a good baseball team over there, but we didn’t get here by accident either. And with the best crowd in baseball behind us, I like our chances.
Hey, Angry Tall Guy with a Podcast here. Their top 6 are absolutely loaded. How do you plan on slowing down guys like Ohtani, Freeman, Yamamoto?
Hey Lurch, we can’t really give those guys anything to work with so Trey is going to have to be dialled in with his pitch mix and go out there and execute. He wouldn’t be in this position if we didn’t think he could do that.
Guapo: How loud will the singing of the national anthem be tonight?
Guapo, this crowd always brings it. Of course, it’s the World Series so there might be more of you media guys in the building than there usually is, but if I know our fans, they’re gonna blow you away.
conor: Coach,1 congrats on making the series. Any concerns rolling out a starter who was in low-A just 7 months ago in such a charged environment?
Thanks, Conor. Lemme just say, big fan of the LeBrondent Report. I think Trey said it best just before Game 2 of the Yankees series when he said he’s built for this. He’s a damn good ballplayer and has earned every promotion he got this year.
Do you feel any extra pressure knowing that this is the Blue Jays first World Series appearance and, with that, knowing that it will be many Canadians first exposure to the sport of baseball?
From the LA times, right? I just want to say welcome to Toronto and our ballpark. Not sure if you’ve seen them but there’s a whole bunch of banners out above centre field, and two of them say “World Series Champs”. But yeah, you know, this is the first time here for a lot of our guys, but given how they’ve played in the postseason so far I know they have what it takes to shine on this stage and not let the moment get too big for them. That’s also where it’s so important to have guys like Springer and Max, who have not only been here before but have excelled.
Hey, Bart, Deebs McFuck with Suicide Daily. Your players have been on record stating how much they enjoy playing for you. Quotes like, “would run through a wall for him,” or, “would literally fucking kill myself to save him.” What’s it like coaching that group of men in there?
Hi Deebs, I couldn’t be prouder to be working with this group of guys all year. It’s really a special group, and if they’re saying that about me, I’m sure they’d say that about each and every one of their teammates too.
Thanks everyone.
