We’re getting towards the end on the Challenge, with only 3 non star holder teams left. The episode opens with some hanging out in the house. Turbo is apparently sleeping in the living room, yet mad that people are hanging out in the living while he tries to sleep. Adam pokes the bear and starts a fight which leads to Turbo saying “His name is Adam. Piece of Shit is his middle name.” The question this leads to for me is will Turbo manage to stay in the game long enough to get thrown in again, or will he punch someone and get tossed? Otherwise, the non starholders are plotting to send in 2 teams with stars, to free up one for the next challenge.
The daily challenge this week starts with solving a puzzle, and then driving an ATV over a cliff to grab a hanging star. Fastest team wins. Mostly this ends up being a puzzle race, the ATV portion seems to be mostly there to keep this from just watching 7 teams do a puzzle. Highlights included Melissa and Nicole taking forever to do the puzzle and then for all their work also not being able to touch the star, and then Katie and Veronica killing the puzzle and not even coming close on the star. But hey, Katie did a heights challenge, so good for her. Steve and Adam win, so the Nany/Turbo vs Ashley/Dario plan continues to live.
After the challenge, it’s bar time again. Mostly this ends up with everyone fighting with Turbo again. Honestly,it’s impressive he made it to episode 8 before this started. Dario and Ashley get voted in. Frank is overpoliticking, giving some hope to Nany and Turbo.
However, Adam and Steve make the smart game move given how close to the finale we are, and send in Nany and Turbo. The elimination this week is a puzzle on what’s essentially a teeter totter. One person needs to hold onto a wire to hold up a board, while the other person completes a puzzle. You have 3 minutes to complete the puzzle, and then you have to let go and switch places. Turbo promises to get revenge on Dario for Leroy, who I didn’t realize he got along with. Veronica says it looks like Dario and Ashley will pull out the win, which mostly made me assume they won’t. Each person goes through it once, and then on his second try, Turbo finishes the puzzle, eliminating Dario and Ashley. Nany and Turbo are looking really strong if they can keep it together emotionally, to me they’re the current favorites in a final.
Dario and Ashley get a nice little send off, I’m glad they’ve made up. Turbo is now gunning for Adam, and I think there’s a pretty good chance they can get another daily win to send them in. We’re down to 2 non star holders, so probably 1 more daily and then some kind of final elimination. If both Nany/Turbo and Adam/Steve can stick around I think we have a pretty exciting final in store.
